The Medium Handbrake Kit by Hollin Applications allows the user to either apply or remove a vehicles handbrake with a force of up to 1300N (130kg) by the push of a button, with built in safety features to ensure no accidental applications or removals of the handbrake occurs. This circuit designed by Hollin Applications uses an input signal to switch the direction of an MD Linear Actuator.

The double pole switch changes relays in a H-Bridge configuration which changes the direction of current flow and shorts the D.C. Motor when switched off. This ensures a minimal amount of overrun on the Actuator. This circuit automatically converts the low power input signal to the high current motor drive.

The circuit is preset to 1000N (100kg) and can be adjusted to a maximum force of 1300N (130kg).

The Handbrake Kit comes with an ON-ON Toggle Switch as standard, it is also available with a Red/Green Latching Switch (£10) or a variety of different Push Buttons that come with an additional circuit to plug in (£20). Pictures are shown above, further information is available on the Medium Handbrake Kit page.
